The IFMA Fire Marshal’s Management Institute provides an introduction or refresher of topics necessary for the effective management of fire prevention programs regardless of the size of the program or jurisdiction. Topic areas include the principals of management vs. leadership, legal matters for code officials, how to operate effectively in a political environment, how to develop budgets and effective staffing models, undertaking community risk assessment and management, benchmarking your program’s effectiveness, and strategic planning.  Attendance is appropriate for those new to or considering leadership roles in fire prevention, or as a refresher for the seasoned veteran fire marshal.
